Preteam & Little Demons
2026 Potomac Woods Pre-Team & Little Demons
The Potomac Woods Pre-Team program is for young swimmers (ages 5 and above) who would like to participate on the swim team but whose swimming skills are not developed enough to qualify. The pre-team offers a high ratio of older swimmers and coaches to children to ensure that our younger team members receive special instruction.
We will have two different pre-team groups - Pre-Team and Little Demons. The minimum age for Pre-Team and Little Demons is 5 years old.
All pre-team swimmers must be willing and able to fully participate in the program without coercion. All pre-team swimmers must be able to put their face and head in the water and make forward progress with their arms and legs. Pre-Team swimmers must also be able to swim across the diving well of the pool (12 feet deep).
Our Little Demons Program is for swimmers who are not comfortable in the deeper water but can still put their head/face in the water and make forward progress.
Pre-team practice will start on June 1st and Little Demon practice will start after MCPS school is out on June 22nd.
Registration will not open until after evaluations for both Pre-team and Little Demons this year.
A specific link will be provided to register for BOTH Preteam and Little Demon Program after evalutions are completed.
All Pre-team members and Little Demons are welcome to join us for all team socials and events! They may also have the opportunity to participate in kick board races or even swim in our Wednesday night B meets!
