Hello, PW Families!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth of July! 

On Friday, we hosted North Chevy Chase for our last home A meet of the season and came out with a win after some fabulous swims by our team. Final score- North Chevy Chase 363, Potomac Woods 428.Results have been posted on the home page of our Team Website and times are in SwimTopia as well.

Week 5 Information:

MCSL Coaches Long Course Meet - Tuesday, July 7 at 6:00pm

• Come out to the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center to cheer on Samara Jayawardhane, Tessa Bowen, Andie Young and Logan Steele as they represent Potomac Woods! 
• Only the top 8 Swimmers from the county get to participate in this meet, congratulations to Samara, Tessa, Andie and Logan!

B Meet – HOME versus Country Glen this Wednesday, July 8!

• Sign-ups CLOSE Monday, July 6 at 5 p.m.
• Please declare your swimmer’s attendance (attending/not attending) and sign up for their events.
• Sign up to volunteer; there are still spots open for Wednesday!
• Meet Theme: Minions
• Arrive: 4:45pm
• Warm-ups: 5:00pm
• Officials and Timers Meetings: 5:30pm
• PreTeam Kickboard Race: 5:50pm
• Meet Start: 6:00 pm
• Snack Bar: The PW snack bar will be selling hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and pizza, and as well as the usual snack bar snacks and beverages.
• Hospitality: will be available for volunteers at the break.
• Swim Team swimmers can bring a float to the warm-ups and use a float/raft instead of warm-ing up Wednesday!

Team Meeting and Social - Friday, July 10, 2026

• Team Meeting - 6:00pm
  • Join your teammates and coaches for our final weekly Friday Team Meeting! Our Coaches will announce Swimmers of the Week, Time Droppers of the Week and Spirit Award Winners!
• Team Social - Shaving Cream Wars
  • There will be shaving cream wars in the grassy area- please be sure to have your swimmers bring shoes that can get wet/dirty. Swimmers need to bring a minimum of 2 cans of shaving cream per swimmer and MUST wear goggles. Swimmers also MUST be hosed off before they get back into the pool. They will not be allowed to go into the pool if there is still shaving cream on them. If they do not want to be hosed off with cold water, they should not participate.

A Meet - AWAY this Saturday, July 11 at 9:00am at Garrett Park

• Sign-ups CLOSE Thursday, July 9 at 10am. Please declare your swimmer’s availability (Available/Not available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineup with swimmers that we know are available.
• Meet Lineup will be emailed on Thursday.
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet, even if you are beyond your point minimum. We still need volunteers to run the meet!

Sarah Auer Mini Meet

• PW will be participating in the Sarah Auer mini meet in Poolesville for swimmers 10 and under on July 12th. This is a purely optional meet as it's a fundraiser for a friend and colleague of Jonny's.
• You can sign up for events in SwimTopia now.
• Jonny sent out information about it and included how to pay for your swimmer. Proceeds go towards a scholarship fund.

Team Movie

• Team Movie to see Minions on Tuesday, July 7th at Montgomery Mall at 1:30pm

Division H Shirt

• Cedarbrook created a Division H shirt. To place an order, please order through this Google Sheet by July 7th. To pay, Venmo me at Jennifer-Templeman-1, last 4 digits 0992. If you don't have Venmo, reach out and we can arrange an alternate payment method. I will place a team order and pick up the shirts at Divisionals. You can get your shirt from me (or other designated person) at Divisionals or at the banquet.

Volunteering

• We know that many families have already exceeded their points; thank you for continuing to volunteering and step up for the swimmers; we couldn't run swim team without you! If you have a child who will be swimming Saturday, please consider volunteering, even if you've fulfilled your point requirement. Banquet jobs will open at 10:00 today and B meet jobs for Wednesday are already open. If you are not sure of how to check points, please email me. If you are planning on paying for all of your points or your remaining balance of points, please email me and Randi Neches and we will generate an invoice for you.
