Believe it or not, it's time to start thinking about winter swim!! Seems early to me but registration is already open or opening soon!

Registration for Sunday night Stroke and Turn clinics at Rockville and Gaithersburg opened today! Registration for county stroke and turn sites opens on August 11th at 6:30am.

Another type of winter swimming is competitive winter/year round swimming- think, indoor swim meets and weekly practices to build endurance and improve stroke technique. RMSC hosts tryouts at different locations (there are 4 county locations and one at City of Rockville). You can try out at more than one location as offers are specific to the location. Jonny coaches at Olney. There are other private swim clubs that offer competitive year round swimming (NCAP, ASA, MetroSurge etc) and their tryout information can be found on their websites through a Google search.

RMSC tryouts for the fall at KSAC are on June 22nd and July 21st. RMSC tryouts for the other locations (Olney, Germantown and MLK) are on July 13 and 21st. Dates to register for tryouts have not been announced yet but the link says to check back in mid June.  Please read the link for more information. Tryouts are free and easy to cancel but tend to fill up quickly. If you think your swimmer(s) may be at all interested in winter swimming at RMSC, register for a tryout and you can always cancel if they are no longer interested as the date approaches.

We have a number of PW swimmers across different locations, ages and groups; and, I am happy to put you in touch with someone at your swimmer's age if you have questions specific to a location or group. I know it's early to be thinking about the fall and indoor swimming but I encourage you to reach out to Jonny, me or someone else who has children in winter swimming to see if it could be a good fit for your swimmer.
