Hello, PW Swim Team Families! We have a lot of information for you this week!

Great job to all of our swimmers and volunteers that participated in Time Trials yesterday! Your swimmer's results can be found under your account on the Team Website and the meet results in a PDF format can be found under the Meet Result tab of our homepage on the right side. THANK YOU to all of our volunteers! We couldn't have done it without you!

And, a big thank you to our head volunteer, Tracy Willis, for successfully running our first Friday night team pasta dinner. We also appreciate all the servers and cooks, we had some happy and full swimmers, thank you!

General Reminders

• Please encourage your swimmer to stay in the team area so the coaches can easily find them for their events and send them to the clerk of course. We also ask that parents do not go into the team area and stay there- it interferes with team bonding that happens when adults are on the other side of the pool watching.
• Please RSVP for the pancake breakfast on June 19th.
• Please do not take photos or videos from behind the start end of your swimmer's lane as it gets in the way of timers and officials. This is a USA Swimming rule not to take photos of other swimmers from behind and is a swimmer safety concern.
• Job sign-ups for the B meet on June 17th open at 10am today. The A meet job sign-up for June 13th will open then too.
• Please sign up your swimmer for their B meet events. We know many of you have declared their availability but you can also sign them up for events, please do so before tomorrow night!

B Meet – AWAY - Wednesday, June 10 - at Country Glen

• Sign up NOW! Sign-ups CLOSE Monday, June 8 at 5 p.m. Please declare your swimmer’s attendance (attending/not attending) and sign up for their events. (You can declare and sign up for ALL meets for the entire season NOW). Sign up for any events your swimmer would like to swim and Jonny will adjust the line up as necessary.
• Thank you signing up to volunteer! All of our positions are full!
• Meet Theme: Western
• Arrive by: 5:00pm
• Warm-ups: 5:20pm
• Officials and Timers Meetings: 5:30 pm
• Meet Start: 6:00 pm
• Hospitality will be available at the break for volunteers.
• Parking: Park at Country Glen or next door at Wayside Elementary School.
• Snack bar information: The Country Glen snack bar offers snacks, ice cream and dinner items. Note that it is often very crowded and takes a while to get food—plan accordingly!

Ellen will send the line up out either Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It will also be available on the PW website--please print a copy if you would like one to follow along during the meet.

Team Meeting and Social – Friday, June 12

• Team Meeting - Join your teammates and coaches for our weekly Friday Team Meeting! Coaches Jonny, Audrey, Meghan, and Madison will be announcing Swimmers of the Week, Time Droppers of the Week and Spirit Award Winners!
• Team Social - Scavenger Hunt!

A Meet - Home- Saturday, June 13 at PW

Please declare your swimmer’s availability (Available/Not available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineup with swimmers that we know are available. You can declare your swimmer’s availability for the entire season now if you know your schedule. If you have not declared your availability, it will default to be unavailable when the coaches are creating the line-ups.

• Athlete sign-ups CLOSE Thursday, June 10 at 9:00AM.
• Top 3 PW swimmers in each of the stroke events and Top 6 PW swimmers in the freestyle events in each age group are chosen by Coach Jonny to swim in the A meet.
• The tentative A Meet Lineup will be emailed Thursday afternoon or evening. Remember to check the lineup even if your swimmer is not the top 3 or top 6 in freestyle as the top swimmers may not be available to swim Saturday so your swimmer may be placed in the lineup.
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet. If you volunteered and your swimmer is not swimming in the A meet, please cancel your volunteer job as soon as you know.

Team and Meet Pictures

• Our fabulous team photographer, Michael Neches, has the team picture from Friday available! The password is Demons
• Taking pictures and going through them after to determine which to post on the site takes a tremendous amount of time and work, please thank Michael next time you see him with his lens!
• Consider joining our Potomac Woods Swim Team Facebook Group, links are updated by Michael when he is done going through pictures from each meet.

Parents of Big Buddies

• Remind your "big kid" to check in on their little brother or sister, especially at the B meet on Wednesday!
• Encourage them to cheer for their little buddies and chat in the team area with them
• If your big kid is not going to be at a meet or social, encourage them to ask another big kid to cheer and check in on their little brother or sister
