Hello, Potomac Woods Swim Team Families!

The 2026 summer swim season is only a few days away! Here are some reminders and information for the season:

Swim Team Regular Season: Monday, May 25 through Wednesday, July 15th.

PreTeam Season: Monday, June 1 through Friday, July 10.

Little Demons Season: Thursday, June 22 through Friday, July 10.

Practice Times can be found HERE. If your child is out of school on June 15th-18th, please attend morning practice on those days! If you have swimmer(s) who will be able to attend morning practice on those days, please sign up here so our coaches know who and how many to expect.

Swim Team Kickoff and Parent Meeting – MONDAY, May 25 from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m.

• New Swimmer Evaluations 8:40 – 9:00 a.m.
• Purchase PW jibbitz & team caps: 9:00- 10:30 a.m (Jibbitz will be $2 each or three for $5, caps are $15 each- cash or Venmo)
• 1st Swim Team Practice (All Ages) 9:00 – 10:15 a.m
• Parent Meeting 9:45-10:0am (This is geared towards new swim team families but all are welcome)
• Team Potluck 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. (please drop food off no later than 9:30am)
  • Families with last names beginning with A - L please bring Breakfast Food Based on previous years, the preferred foods are doughnuts and bakery items (muffins, pastries, etc). If bringing bagels, please have them sliced and bring cream cheese to go with them.
  • Families with last names beginning with M - S please bring Cut up Fruit
  • Families with last names beginning with T - Z please bring a case of Bottled Water
• Sharon Sutton will be on the mic and playing music all morning!

Team T-shirts, Caps & Apparel

Our team t-shirts will be passed on the first week of June. The pick up for personalized caps, apparel and t-shirts is June 4th. Please be sure to label them AND keep them in a safe place! Swimmers will need to wear them for our team photo on June 5th.

Meet Themes

Our fabulous social chair, Sharon Sutton, and our coaches have finalized the meet themes. Please check them out and start planning your attire now!

Meet Sign Up and Volunteering

Volunteering jobs are open for the potluck on May 25th! Time Trial jobs will open at noon on Monday, May 26th. Meet entries for swimmers are now OPEN. Please visit our website to sign your swimmers up to swim. Meet sign up instructions are on the website (Meet Sign Up Calendar Tab, Sign Up Instructions). Job entries for all of the other meets will open up the Sunday before the A meet and two Sundays before a B meet. (If you are new, welcome and we will go over ALL of this and more at the parent meeting next Monday!) You can add your swimmer's availability for ALL meets now.

Swim Topia App

Consider downloading the SwimTopia app. You will get app notifications if practice is canceled due to storms or an emergency at the pool. You will also be able to sign up for meets, jobs and keep track of your child's times through the app. All events for the season will be there as well.

All of our informational emails are also posted in the NEWS section of our website. If you recently registered, please go back and re-read other general emails about the season that have been sent so far.

Officials

If you are interested in being a swim official, NOW is the time! There are still online and in person clinics available. After time trials, all officials will schedule their volunteering schedule so you will know your working meets with plenty of notice.
