Hello, PW Families!

Yesterday, we hosted Poolesville for our final home A meet of the season. Final Score – Potomac Woods 409, Poolesville 377. We are 3-1 so far this season! We also celebrated our senior, Madison Heitzmann and celebrated 25 years of Jonny coaching at PW. We hope you have a chance to see the pictures in the pool entry in the next couple of days celebrating them.

Week 5 Information:

MCSL Coaches Long Course Meet - Tuesday, July 8 at 6:00pm

• Come out to the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center to cheer on Alexa Drunsic and Andie Young as they represent Potomac Woods!

B Meet – HOME versus Country Glen this Wednesday, July 9!

• Sign-ups CLOSE Monday, July 8 at 5 p.m.
• Please declare your swimmer’s attendance (attending/not attending) and sign up for their events.
• Sign up to volunteer; there are still spots open for Wednesday!
• Meet Theme: 80s Fitness! Think neon, headbands, wrist bands, leg warmers!
• Arrive: 4:45pm
• Warm-ups: 5:00pm
• Officials and Timers Meetings: 5:30pm
• PreTeam Kickboard Race: 5:45pm
• Meet Start: 6:00 pm
• Snack Bar: The PW snack bar will be selling hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and pizza, and as well as the usual snack bar snacks and beverages.
• Hospitality: will be available for volunteers at the break.

Team Meeting and Social - Friday, July 11, 2025

• Team Meeting - 6:00pm
  • Join your teammates and coaches for our final weekly Friday Team Meeting! Our Coaches will announce Swimmers of the Week, Time Droppers of the Week and Spirit Award Winners!
• Team Social - Shaving Cream Wars
  • There will be shaving cream wars in the grassy area- please be sure to have your swimmers bring shoes that can get wet/dirty. Swimmers need to bring a minimum of 2 cans of shaving cream per swimmer and MUST wear goggles. Swimmers also MUST be hosed off before they get back into the pool. They will not be allowed to go into the pool if there is still shaving cream on them. If they do not want to be hosed off with cold water, they should not participate.

A Meet - HOME this Saturday, July 12 at 9:00am

• Sign-ups CLOSE Thursday, July 10 at 10am. Please declare your swimmer’s availability (Available/Not available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineup with swimmers that we know are available.
• Meet Lineup will be emailed on Thursday.
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet, even if you are beyond your point minimum.  We still need volunteers to run the meet!

Sarah Auer Mini Meet

• PW will be participating in the Sarah Auer mini meet in Poolesville for swimmers 10 and under on July 13th. This is a purely optional meet as it's a fundraiser for a friend and colleague of Jonny's.
• You can sign up for events in SwimTopia now.
• Jonny will send out more information about it and include how to pay for your swimmer. Proceeds go towards a scholarship fund.

Save the Date

• Team Movie on July 16th. More details coming later this week. There is a possibility this will be moved to July 18th depending on movie availability and times. I apologize for the delay but the original movie pick doesn't appear to still be in the theaters next week.

Swim-a-thon

Andie Young would love you to join us at Potomac Woods Swim Club for a Swim-a-Thon to Benefit the Guide Dogs of America on Monday, July 14th at 5pm.
