Hello, Demon Families!!

Buckle up, this is a long email!  

Potomac Woods hosted Little Falls yesterday for our third A Meet of the season. Congratulations to all of our swimmers that worked hard to get best times! Final Score – Potomac Woods 369, Palisades, 422.

And, congratulations to all of our relay swimmers this morning! We placed second out of six teams and had 8 relay teams who got first!  Most of these relay teams will be going to All Star relays on July 26th!

Week 4 Information:

B Meet – AWAY at River Falls this Wednesday, July 2!

• Sign-ups CLOSE Monday, July 3 at 5p.m. Please declare your swimmer’s attendance (attending/not attending) and sign up for their events.
• Meet Theme: Red, White and Blue
• Arrive by: 5:00pm
• Warm-ups: 5:20pm
• Officials and Timers Meetings: 5:30pm
• Meet Start: 6:00pm
• Hospitality: will be available for volunteers at the break.

5:00-5:45- 11 and up 

5:45-6:30- 10 and unders

Team Meeting and Social - Thursday, July 3, 2025

• Team Meeting - 6:40pm
  • Join your teammates and coaches for our weekly Team Meeting! Our Coaches will announce Swimmers of the Week, Time Droppers of the Week and Spirit Award Winners!

• Team Social - Bake-off-Swimmers, make your favorite appetizer and bring it portioned and ready to eat. Our PW Coaches will (very willingly) sample each entry to determine their favorite in each category.
  • Desserts will be judged in 6 categories:
    • Savory
    • Sweet
    • Spicy
    • Dips
    • Charcuterie
    • Other

Friday - 4th of July Practice Schedule

We are going to have an all age practice on Friday, July 4, from 8:30-9:30am.  There will be a big buddy/little buddy portion of practice.  Big Buddies, if you are not going to be at practice on July 4th, please arrange for another big kid to help with your little buddy.  There will not be an afternoon practice. Everyone will have to leave the pool and deck at the end of practice. (We will NOT be having a team breakfast as we have done in past years)

A Meet - HOME this Saturday, July 5 vs Poolesville

• Please declare your swimmer’s availability NOW (Available OR NOT Available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineups for A Meets with swimmers that we know are available.
• Sign-ups CLOSE WEDNESDAY, July 3 at 8pm. (Please note the early deadline due to the holiday on Friday)
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet.

Senior Lunch

On Saturday, we will be hosting our Senior meet at Potomac Woods after the A meet. We will be celebrating our senior swimmer- Madison Heitzman and celebrating 25 years of coaching for Jonny at PW.

Please RSVP for our senior lunch after the meet by Tuesday, July 2nd at 6pm so we know how much food to buy. We will be selling hamburger/cheeseburger/veggie burger/hot dog, chips and water for $5. There will also be cake served in honor of our graduating seniors.

Andie Young would love you to join us at Potomac Woods Swim Club for a Swim-a-Thon to Benefit the Guide Dogs of America on Monday July 14th at 5pm.

• Banquet information will be coming out later this week or early next week.  But, save the date for Sunday, July 20th starting at 6pm!
• Team Movie on July 16th. More details coming next week.
