Hello, Demon Families!!

Potomac Woods traveled to Quince Orchard yesterday for our third A Meet of the season. Congratulations to all of our swimmers that worked hard to get best times! Final Score – Potomac Woods 372, Palisades, 415. 

Results have been posted on the home page of our Team Website and all times are also under your swimmer’s profile in Swimtopia on the website or in the app.

We also had a great showing at the A Relay Carnival this morning! We placed third out of six teams and had 6 relay teams who got first and have qualified for the All Star Relay Carnival on July 27th at 10am!

Week 4 Information:

Team Movie

• Team Movie! We will be going to see the movie Inside Out 2! Buy your tickets online now!

Thursday - 4th of July Practice Schedule, Team Meeting AND Breakfast

We are going to have an all age practice on Thursday, July 4, from 8:30-9:30am. Then, we will follow it up with a Team Potluck Breakfast from 9:30-10:00am. Parents and siblings are welcome to join for breakfast.

• • Families with last names beginning with A - L- Please bring doughnuts or bagels and PLAIN cream cheese
  • Families with last names beginning with M - S- Please bring cut up Fruit (Grapes, Cantaloupe, Berries, Watermelon, etc.). Last year, patriotic fruit cups with whipped cream were a HUGE hit!
  • Families with last names beginning with T - Z- Please bring bottled water and one bag of ice
• Families will have to leave the pool deck at 10:00 and cannot leave personal belongings to save tables for the day.
• NO EVENING PRACTICE

B Meet – AWAY at River Falls this Wednesday, July 3!

• Sign-ups CLOSE Monday, July 3 at 6p.m. Please declare your swimmer’s attendance (attending/not attending) and sign up for their events.
• Sign up to Volunteer!
• Meet Theme: Dance Party!
• Arrive by: 5:00pm
• Warm-ups: 5:20pm
• Officials and Timers Meetings: 5:30 pm
• Meet Start: 6:00 pm
• Hospitality: will be available for volunteers at the break.

Team Meeting and Social - Friday, July 5, 2024

• Team Meeting - 6:00pm
  • Join your teammates and coaches for our weekly Friday Team Meeting! Our Coaches will announce Swimmers of the Week, Time Droppers of the Week and Spirit Award Winners!

• Team Social - Bake-off-Swimmers, make your favorite dessert and bring it portioned and ready to eat. Our PW Coaches will (very willingly) sample each entry to determine their favorite in each category.
  • Desserts will be judged in 4 categories:
  • Cakes and cupcakes
  • Cookies
  • Brownies
  • Other

• Sign-ups CLOSE Thursday, July 6 at 10am. Please declare your swimmer’s availability (Available/Not available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineup with swimmers that we know are available.
• Meet Lineup will be emailed on Thursday.
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet

A Meet - AWAY this Saturday, July 6 at Olney Mill

• Please declare your swimmer’s availability NOW (Available OR NOT Available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineups for A Meets with swimmers that we know are available.
• Sign-ups CLOSE WEDNESDAY, July 3 at 9pm. (Please note the early deadline due to the holiday on Thursday)
• Saturday’s A Meet Lineup will be emailed to the team later this week.
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet. 

Looking ahead:

On Saturday, July 13th, we will be hosting our Senior meet at Potomac Woods after the A meet against Calverton. We will be celebrating our senior swimmers- Peggy Lannon and Ellie Rascher.

Please RSVP for our senior lunch after the meet by Wednesday, July 10th so we know how much food to buy. We will be selling hamburger/cheeseburger/hot dog, chips and water. There will also be cake served in honor of our graduating seniors.

We are also in need of a few volunteers to help grill and pass out food. Volunteer jobs will open tomorrow morning at 9am. We encourage all of our swimmers to come out and support our seniors, regardless if they are swimming in the A meet.
