We hope everyone is excited for our first Wednesday meet of the season! Rachel Ossman and I are your B reps--we are here to answer all your questions about Wednesday night meets.

Here's what you need to know:

Location: Country Glen Swim and Tennis Club, 10055 Glen Rd, Potomac, MD 20854

They have a reasonable size parking lot but it will probably fill up; if it is full, park next door at Wayside Elementary School.

Arrival Time: 5:00  We will gather on the right side when you walk in, towards the back when you enter the pool. There will be a team area for the swimmers; don't worry parents--your kids are in good hands with our PW coaches and older swimmers!

The swimmers will warm up at 5:20; they need to be there early so that coaches know who is there and get them organized.

Meet Theme: To build excitement each week, we have a different theme. This week's theme is Pirates of Potomac Woods.  Get into the spirit and dress up!  (No need to purchase anything--be creative with what you have!  And yes, it's the last week of school for most of us so do what you can--a bandana always works!)  

Food:  Country Glen has a snack bar that serves hamburgers, hot dogs, and other dinner food items, as well as snacks. They accept cash and credit cards (not sure about Venmo).

Volunteers: Thank you to those of you that signed up to help! Please check in with me when you get there for your lanyard and instructions. We can't run this meet without you--if you can't make it please let us know in advance. Please also note that as a volunteer, you need to stay to the end of the meet, even if your swimmer is done for the evening.

Officials and Timers:  Meeting at 5:30 to go over roles, lane assignments, etc.

Hospitality:  There will be hospitality (free food since you probably missed dinner) available for all volunteers at the break (after backstroke and before breaststroke). Country Glen usually sets this up by the baby pool.

Ribbons:  All 12 and under swimmers will receive ribbons for their participation in Wednesday night meets.  PLEASE do not try to get these ribbons at the meet; it makes it hard for the volunteers to get their jobs done.  ALL RIBBONS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE WEEKLY FRIDAY TEAM MEETING. This week, they will also be available during the Friday morning practice and pancake breakfast.  There are file boxes with folders for each swimmer; the ribbons will be placed in the swmmers' folders.

Meet Program:  The program is attached and available on he PW swim team website.  If you'd like a print copy, please print one prior to coming to the pool.
