Happy Father’s Day to all of our Demon Dads! We hope you have a wonderful day of celebrations.

Potomac Woods visited Tentarra yesterday morning for the first A Meet of the season. Congratulations to all of our swimmers that participated!! Final Score – Potomac Woods 345, Tentarra 446.  Congratulations to the following swimmers for getting All-Star times in yesterday’s meet: Charlie Finnegan in 100 IM, 50 Free, 50 Back and 50 Fly, Lily Heitzmann in 100 IM, 50 Free and 50 Breast, Laura Hahs in 25 Free, Connor McCullough in 50 Free and 25 Fly, Andie Young in 50 Free and 25 Back, Meave McCullough in 50 Free, Audrey Cskomay in 100 Back, Natasha Drunsic in 25 Fly and Ella Templeman in 25 Fly. Way to go to all of our swimmers!

Sad News

Some of you may have heard that Jonny Leong's dad passed away on June 9th. Here is his obituary. The pool will be making a contribution to one of the desired charities. If you feel inclined, his family has asked that donations in lieu of flowers to be made to Dachshund Rescue of North America or to the Angel Island Immigration Station. 

Volunteer Info

More volunteer opportunities have been posted. We are in need of volunteers to help with tie-dying this Friday evening and to help with our Senior BBQ lunch on Saturday, July 8th at the pool. Go to the homepage to sign up for those. If you are no longer able to fulfill a role you previously signed up for, please cancel it on the website. If it’s too close to the meet and you cannot cancel it, please email me. Also, you are not expected to volunteer for a job that you do not have a swimmer in! If you previously signed up to volunteer for an A meet and your swimmer is not swimming in an A meet, you do not need to volunteer.  Additional opportunities for volunteering will pop up throughout the season.

Week 2 Information:

Practices change to our summer schedule tomorrow! If you are able to attend morning practices, it is highly recommended. The pool is quieter,  practice is less crowded and we have a lot more space to spread out. To see our practice schedule, click here.

B Meet – HOME versus River Falls this Wednesday, June 21 at Potomac Woods! Sign-ups CLOSE Monday, June 19 at 5 p.m. Please declare your swimmer’s attendance (attending/not attending) and sign up for the events they would like to swim. Jonny will make final decisions based on what he is seeing practice. Wednesday meets are open to all swimmers—if you want your swimmer to swim, you must indicate they are attending and select their events for this meet in Swimtopia.

• Meet Theme: Heroes and Villains
• Arrive by: 4:45 pm
• Warm-ups: 5:00 pm
• Officials and Timers Meetings: 5:30 pm

• Meet Start: 6:00 pm
• Snack Bar: The PW snack bar will be open and selling hot dogs, burgers, pizza, buttered noodles along with other snacks and beverages.
• Hospitality will be available at the break for volunteers

Team Meeting and Social - Friday, June 23, 2023

• Team Meeting - 6:00pm- Join your teammates and coaches for our weekly Friday Team Meeting! Our Coaches will announce Swimmers of the Week, Time Droppers of the Week and Spirit Award Winners!
• Team Social - Tie Dye & Ping Pong Scramble (after the team meeting)
  • Bring a white t-shirt, we'll supply the rubber bands and dye! Make t-shirts with your teammates!
  • Ping Pong Ball Scramble - Every swimmer will be assigned a number and will have to find their coordinating ping pong ball amongst 100 ping pong balls in the pool! (PreTeamers and Little Demons will play in the Baby Pool)

A Meet - HOME this Saturday, June 24 versus Palisades

• Please declare your swimmer’s availability (Available/Not available). Doing this helps Coach Jonny create the lineup with swimmers that we know are available. You can declare your swimmer’s availability for the entire season now if you know your schedule!
• Sign-ups CLOSE Thursday, June 22 at 10am.
• Meet Lineup will be emailed on Thursday.
• Please sign up to volunteer if your swimmer makes the A meet.
