Hello, Potomac Woods Swim and Pre Team Families!!

The 2020 season is just around the corner! Hopefully COVID-19 is done and gone by then and we can have a fun, relaxing summer at Potomac Woods.

Registration

Registration OPENS TOMORROW, Sunday, March 15! While we are all home with plenty of free time, please visit our website at https://potomacwoodsswimteam.swimtopia.com/ to sign your swimmer(s) up for swim and/or pre team. If for some reason we are not able to carry out the 2020 season due to COVID-19, all registrations will be fully refunded.

Volunteer Information

Our team is run strictly on the power of parent volunteers. We need to fill several key volunteer positions for the 2020 season. PLEASE help if you can!! These positions are:

• Automation – Computer Operators: Training Offered through MCSL, 5 Points per full shift at meets, Use MCSL software (Meet Manager) to record swimmer times and heat scoring and then print ribbon labels, event score sheets and the final meet summary at home meets.
• Banquet Planner(s): 8 Points towards family point total, Plan 2020’s Swim Team Banquet! We have the date, venue (hopefully!) and budget, you plan the food and fun! Team up with a friend!
• Officials – Stroke and Turn Judge, Referee and Starter: Training Required, 4 Points per full shift at meets. (Please contact Mike Bennett for questions if you are interested: [email protected])
• Team Breakfast - Organize and operate weekly Friday morning post-practice swim team breakfasts. There are 5 breakfasts this season. Work with Harris Teeter (or any vendor of your choice) to receive breakfast donations.

PreTeam Open House (Please RSVP on the Team Website)

Sunday, May 17 at 10 a.m.

Join the PW Coaches to learn about the PW Pre Team and have your swimmer evaluated for PreTeam or Swim Team. Be sure to have your swimmer dressed in their bathing suit and goggles.

Those that cannot make this Open House can also be evaluated at the Swim Team Kickoff New Swimmer Evaluation on Monday, May 25 at 8:30 a.m.

• 1st PW Swim Team Practice! (All Ages) 9-10:15
• Cassel's Swim and Awards - Team Suits available for Sizing and Purchase 9-11:00
• Parent Meeting and Team Potluck 10:15-11:00
• Families with last names beginning with A - L please bring Bagels/Cream Cheese or a Breakfast Baked Good
• Families with last names beginning with M - S please bring Cut up Fruit
• Families with last names beginning with T - Z please bring Bottled Water

Team Suit

The 2020 team suit is the Speedo Modern Matrix in Red (same as 2019). It comes in 2 different styles for girls and the jammer for boys. They are available for purchase NOW at a team discount through Cassel’s Swim and Awards: http://t-shirtpeople.com/potomac_woods_suits/shop/home

Team Apparel

Coming Soon! Our apparel and merchandise team is in the process of setting up the 2020 online store. Once the selection is ready and the online store is up and running, we will send out an email so you can help show your team spirit! We will no longer be selling apparel and merchandise during practices or meets. (Caps will be available for purchase at meets)
