Hello, Potomac Woods Swim Team and PreTeam Families! The pool opens this weekend and summer swim season is just around the corner! Here are some reminders and information for the upcoming season.

Swim Team Season: Monday, May 27 through Tuesday, July 19.

PreTeam Season: Monday, June 3 through Thursday, July 11.

You may also bring your payment to the PreTeam Open House or Swim Team Kickoff. Your swimmer may NOT practice, swim in meets or receive the team t-shirt until payment is received in full.

PreTeam Open House – Sunday, May 18 from 10 – 11:00 a.m.

Join the PW Swim Team Committee and Coaches to learn about Pre Team and have your swimmer(s) evaluated for PreTeam or Swim Team. Be sure to have your swimmer dressed in their bathing suit and goggles.

Those that cannot make the Open House can also be evaluated at the Swim Team Kickoff New Swimmer Evaluation on Monday, May 27 at 8:30 a.m.

Swim Team Kickoff and Parent Meeting – MONDAY, May 27 from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m.

• New Swimmer Evaluations 8:30 – 9:00 a.m.
• Swim Team Practice (All Ages) 9:00 – 10:15 a.m. (Must be paid in full to practice!!)
• Cassel’s Swim and Awards 9:00 -11:00 a.m. - Team Suits for Sizing & Purchase
• Parent Meeting and Team Potluck 10:15 – 11:00 a.m.
• Families with last names beginning with A - L please bring Breakfast Food (bagels and cream cheese, baked goods, casseroles, etc. – store bought is fine!)
• Families with last names beginning with M - S please bring Cut up Fruit
• Families with last names beginning with T - Z please bring a case of Bottled Water

Team Apparel and Merchandise

This year, we will NOT have apparel and merchandise available to purchase at swim meets. Instead, we have an online store and it is OPEN!

THE STORE WILL CLOSE ON MAY 17. Your orders will be shipped for FREE and will be available for pickup at Time Trials on Saturday, June 8.

We are asking that all swim team swimmers wear our team suits or a solid black suit for all swim meets.

Cassel’s Swim and Awards will be available at our Swim Team Kickoff on May 27 from 9-11am for suit sizing and purchase.

Members that are PAID IN FULL may pick up their team t-shirts at the Swim Team Kickoff.

Meet Sign Up and Volunteering

All meet and job sign-ups for the 2019 season are OPEN. Please visit our website to sign your swimmers up to swim in EVERY meet and sign yourselves up to volunteer. Meet sign up instructions are on the website (Meet Sign Up Calendar Tab, Sign Up Instructions).

A huge THANK YOU to Angela Mussio for volunteering to plan our Swim Team Banquet!! She’s looking for a partner in crime if you would like to help her with the planning.

We are still in need of a SOCIAL COORDINATOR. This person would work with the assistant coaches (Mara Kaplan, Morgan Howley and Rafaela Gutierrez) to purchase supplies and decorations for all swim team social activities. This position is worth 8 volunteer points!

We also NEED COMPUTER OPERATORS. At swim meets, this person makes line-up changes in conjunction with the Head Coach, enters times from the meet into the MCSL Meet Manager program and prints results and ribbon labels.
